Now, you may have heard a lot of what you are going to read about before, but please keep an open mind as we go into some of the basic proven principles that are guaranteed to help you achieve your goals. These principles are simple and kept that way for a reason. They work. These are the same exact principles that I've used in my one-on-one coaching with clients and in my own personal life to help people to 5X their business revenues, build healthy, thriving relationships and experience global adventures all over the world.

They may seem overly simple, but they're simple for a reason. Applying these principles to your own life will help you accomplish that which you most desire.

Proper planning prevents piss poor performance and increases the probability of prosperity.

This entire guide is designed to help set you up with the tools and the mindset necessary to properly plan for that which you desire to achieve in your life.

Step 1: Define Your Goals in SMART Format

Now, what is a smart goal? SMART stands for specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. Your goals should be written in such a simple way that when you read it out loud, it leaves zero question to the person that you're describing your goal to, this includes you. If you can't explain your goal in one sentence, your description of that which you're trying to accomplish is too complicated.

Your goal must be measurable, meaning that there's a unit of success tied to the goal. And you know, when you've accomplished it. Your goals should be achievable, meaning that you and your team can realistically accomplish the goal that you've set out to work through in the given timeframe that you've tied to your goal.

Your goal should be relevant. Meaning that it aligns with your vision for where you want to be in your life in the next six to 18 months, if your goal is irrelevant to the vision that you've defined for yourself, then simply redefine it, define a goal that is relevant and matters to you. And finally, for a goal to really be a goal, it needs to be time-bound. It's tied to a specific date.

Step 2: How to Motivate Yourself to Achieve Your Goals

Now, to increase your motivation and really increase the energy and drive behind your goal, to make it really matter to you, it needs to become something that's about more than just yourself, something that benefits the greater good. And some questions that you might ask yourself as you're diving into your own goal-setting process are who or what does this goal benefit beyond just me? And why is this goal important to me? Why does it matter? Answering these questions will help you increase your intrinsic motivation to keep going even when the going gets tough.

Step 3: Build Momentum In The 1st 24-Hours

The first 24-hours after you set your goals in concrete stone are absolutely critical to help you begin building momentum. Within these first 24 hours, you should be working through at least five key actions that can be done within one day. This helps you begin to build momentum and see progress right away towards accomplishing your goals. And it activates something called the law of attraction.

Step 4: Using the Law of Attraction to Accomplish Your Goals

Simply put, the law of attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on. This is really powerful and important to understand because if you focus on your goals and what you most desire, you will attract people and opportunities that align with what you are focused on. If you focus on what you don't want, you will attract people and opportunities that you don't desire. Meaning that what you think about, you bring about. So this goal-setting process is really going to help you reprogram your thoughts and your actions and activate the law of attraction in alignment with that which you most desire.

Step 5: To Achieve Big Goals, Start With Small Habits

Now, your first 30 days from today on out is absolutely critical to your success, the energy and consistency that you bring to your first 30 days will largely determine whether you succeed or fail in accomplishing your goals and objectives.

Implementing some simple habits that align with your goals and getting rid of those self-destructive habits that are holding you at your heels is going to be the key to you taking the actions necessary to get to where you want to be. Now, your habits matter more than ever because these little things that you're doing on a daily basis are going to have a tremendously positive impact or negative impact and increase or decrease the probability that you succeed or fail.

What To Do When You Hit a Mental Wall And Loose Motivation with Your Goals

It is inevitable that you experience what we call the wall or roadblocks on your journey towards accomplishing your objectives. The wall is that inner voice that starts telling you to stop or that you're getting tired or the going is getting tough and you should just give up, the wall is that inner voice that doesn't want you to succeed. I want you to be aware of this because it is inevitable that you experienced the wall at different points on your journey towards accomplishing your goals.

Now, roadblocks are a little bit different. Roadblocks are experiences, people, things, environmental states of being outside of your own mind. They're inevitable challenges that you will face in the pursuit of your objective.

Managing the wall and the roadblocks that you are going to experience in the pursuit of your goal is going to be absolutely critical so that you can work through those challenging cruxes as they arise. When the wall starts speaking in your mind or you experience a roadblock in your world that's holding you back from building momentum, reach out to your community, ask a question, get the support that you need to navigate the internal noise that's going on in your mind or the external roadblocks that are preventing you from moving forward. And, remember there is a solution to every challenge that people have experienced while trying to accomplish their goals.

Continuing to move forward unless all signs indicate that you should stop is absolutely critical to help you maintain your momentum and continue working towards where you desire to be. A roadblock is often a sign, a roadblock is a test of how bad you really want something or it's a sign that now is the time for you to pivot in order for you to succeed. What we call pivot and prosper is simply the process of creating a different map or a different plan that still supports your objective. The objective and what you desire to accomplish remain the same. But the plan of action changes based on the information that you're getting. See, when the information you receive from monitoring your performance and getting feedback based on the actions you're taking is not moving forward. It is time to create a different plan of attack. This empowers you with the ability to pivot and prosper rather than doing the same thing over and over again that is not working and expecting a positive outcome. You are able to change your course based on feedback and get to your desired destination.

Step 6: How Do You Accomplish Goals - Tactics and Milestones

So your goals give you a target, something to focus on. It's what you're trying to hit. But milestones and the tactical process answer the question, how will I achieve my goal? It's important to not become what I call target tunnel focused or purely focused on your goal, because the tactics, the milestones, the little baby steps are truly how you are going to get to where you desire to be.

If you just remain focused on your goal and you just read your goal on a daily basis, but you don't actually take the little seemingly trivial daily baby steps, the little tactical actions that get you to where you want to be, then you are very unlikely to actually hit your target.

So after you clarify your goal, you clarify your target outcome, it's important to just fall in love with the process, the tactical process that gets you to the point of actually accomplishing your baby steps.

Step 7: Daily Visualization for Accomplishing Goals

Oftentimes, people will set a goal and then they'll forget about it. They'll set a goal and a year will pass. Two years will pass and they'll find themselves in the same place as they were a year ago when they wrote that goal down. That's because this goal, this desired objective, never got consciously programmed into the forefront of their mind.

They forgot about what they desired. They stopped doing the little daily things that would get them to where they wanted to be. For this reason. It's so important, critical as such, to review your goals at least twice a day, review your goals in the morning before you start working and in the evening when you're kind of closing up for the day. This little habit of reviewing your goals only takes a couple of minutes, but it helps keep your goals in the forefront of your mind.

It's also important to spend a couple of minutes just visualizing yourself, having already accomplished your goal, having already climbed that mountain, launched that business, gotten that promotion, created a healthy, thriving relationship with the woman of your dreams, using images and a vision board to build more clarity around your goal and what it is going to look like and feel like when it is complete will help increase your motivation, your focus, and tap into a higher level of energy to continue to maintain your momentum towards accomplishing your goal.
